how we do it

  • A beautiful, functional kitchen first begins with us visiting you.

Our initial meeting will determine colour palates, design styles, and the functional requirements of your kitchen.

With 20-plus years of optimising space in marine interiors we’re able to spot dead areas to fully maximise your space.

We offer the latest technologies in hardware and systems to make the most of your kitchen without losing style.

We bring along with us different materials for door and drawer fronts, benchtops, and even tile options. With all these elements together we will discuss and determine the tones of the kitchen’s environment.

  • Armed with all the information gathered from our first meeting, we put a proposal package together for you with an outline of the estimated costs involved in crafting your kitchen.

We’ll give a detailed breakdown of each component and happily answer any queries about what is being spent and where.

Along with the estimated quote, we provide a basic kitchen outline design. This preliminary drawing shows style and colour choices to help make sure we’re on the right track and have understood your brief from our initial meeting.

  • This is where it starts to get exciting!

Here you get to see your kitchen come to life. We send you lifelike, detailed images of your kitchen.

You can also download an App that is linked to design software, where you can zoom in, spin around and really get a feel for your kitchen and visualise yourself standing in it and using it.

In this design phase, we can make as many tweaks as required to ensure you’ll be completely happy with your finished kitchen.

During this time we compile the 2D drawings for construction, liaise with electricians and plumbers for you, and send them the specifications of the appliances selected for use in your kitchen.

Once the drawings have been accepted you will then be given a fixed price for your completed kitchen.

Below are a few samples of past kitchens, from design to reality…

  • Once the drawing has been signed off, we start building your kitchen in our workshop.

During this phase, you're invited to see your kitchen being built in real-time! We check all drawer and door fronts and connect the cabinets as if they were in your space. We also cut the holes required for electrical and plumbing services, limiting the time at installation and minimising the inconvenience of not having a kitchen for a period of time.

In some instances, we require the appliances to fit into the kitchen at our workshop, but more often it’s during this phase that the appliances are delivered to your home.

  • Before installing any cabinets, indoors or outdoors, the areas of your home that may potentially get damaged during installation are protected with our furniture blankets, limiting the waste of plastic and cardboard into landfill.

Priority turns to the benchtops whilst the cabinets and appliances are being installed. Benchtops generally take 10-14 days to manufacture from our template, so to minimise the inconvenience this is happening when the rest of the kitchen is being installed.

  • Invite your friends and family over and enjoy!

only the best will do

We only source top-quality products to incorporate into your design. Ensuring only the best products are used means a kitchen that will endure the test of time, which means you’ll stay in love with it for even longer! For outdoor, we use substrates that we have tested ourselves at our workshop in Auckland’s harsh west coast weather and salt air, so we know it lasts! The fireplaces, smokers, BBQs, ovens and other appliances we source all come with manufacturers’ warranties, and we will only recommend products that we know to be worthy of the dedication and integrity we put into your project. Below are a few of the products we endorse.

Love Kitchens pizza oven

Handcrafted in our own workshop, we make each oven to order, so you can customise the colour and finish of your oven to suit your project.

Our wood fired pizza ovens are each handmade from refractory clay bricks that allows them to absorb heat quickly and retain heat consistently for long periods of time. The dome is coated in refractory cement, creating a thick, insulated outer that is 700mm thick.

These ovens are 100% handmade using the latest finishing products. The design, construction and materials used allow these ovens to reach cooking temperatures of over 350°C in under an hour.

Big Green Egg

The Big Green Egg is much more than just a grill, it’s a complete outdoor cooking system engineered to be stronger, more durable and provide better heat retention than any other outdoor cooker on the market.

Convenience, ease of use and fantastic cooking results set the Egg apart. It’s a high-temp grill, a roaster, a low and slow smoker and outdoor oven all rolled into a Big Green Egg.

Its state-of-the-art ceramic technology and patented components provide the best thermal properties, material quality and cooking results. Lighting the charcoal is simple, and the temperature is easily and accurately controlled, reaching a cooking temperature of up to 400ºC in minutes.

Plus, every Egg comes with a lifetime warranty!

Escea fireplace

Take both your flame grilling and your party hosting to the next level with the Escea wood fire. Thefireplace comes equipped with everything you need to achieve a smoky meat lover’s feast – an Ember Generator, 13-point adjustable cooking plates, grills and meat hooks. Best of all, once the flame cooking is done, the cooking plates slide neatly away underneath a stainless steel drawer, leaving you with a roaring outdoor fire to relax in front of into the small hours.

Constructed from 4mm steel, this epic outdoor fire can withstand whatever you throw at it, and is built to last.
